Clogs please

Clogs. I have been wearing them for ages and really do love them. Comfy, cute, and clearly VERY CHIC!!

Despite the onslaught of fashionista fright on all the cloggin' that was coming down the spring runways (louis vuitton, marc jacobs, chanel, miu miu) I, for one, was excited and exonerated!

Here's a fun sampling from WHOWHATWEAR... I am particularly fond of the black flowered miu miu jobbies (#1) incase anyone is looking to blow 400 buck-a-roos on a gift for me for no apparent reason. I am sure they would be VERY well received here in Vermont, dontcha think?

Emily's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ok, I have been told that these are the best cookies by several people. They are definitely Oli's favorites and they might be Conrad's too!

Here's the recipe:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened (not microwaved)
1 c packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons real vanilla extract
1 1/4 c organic whole wheat flour
1/2 t baking soda
1 t salt
3.5 -4 c quaker oats (the regular ones, not the 'quick' ones)
1 c (++) ghiradelli 60% chocolate chips

Preheat the oven 325.
Cream butter & brown sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and stir into the batter until blended. Add the oats and chips! Use parchment paper to cook. One heaping spoonful of dough = medium cookie which will take about 12-13 minutes to cook, depending on your oven. They freeze very well!
Yum.

*the ones pictured include m&ms too

Full on 'pizza' at the derby!

This is the first turn of the stowe derby, the oldest x-country race in the country! After the 19 kms - I was looking pretty shabby... but I am still all smiles at this early stage pictured here.
Second year participating, and I had the exact same finishing time.... next year I aim to improve! It would probably help if I lose the 'pizza' ski position - not winning any races doing the old snowplow (although, this was a very tricky corner, I swear)! Ha.
